With the talk of 'unions' in college sports...
Should the players receive a stipend?...
Money from endorsements etc?...

A little late to the party on these issues. At this point would not include women's sports

At this point not sure if good or bad. Might see some schools find it too expensive and stop dropping sports and/ or scholarships

Decision except for the amount was made. Again for many schools the cost will be too much and we may see a reduction in sports and/or scholarships. Outside of the power five conferences- sports is pure expense. Any increase may jeopardize those sports. There have been several schools in recent years that have dropped football because of that, this decision might push more over. Although I see the benefit and possibly the need for stipends, I wonder if they just might do more harm then good.

College football is a billion dollar + profit...between butts in seats, TV deals etc...
Now it seems like the cart is pulling the horse...When you see so many players bail in the JR yr. for the Pro's...Why would their be an academic 'requirement'?
Dont know if you've ever been inside one of the Football Palaces...

Saw a game once where somebody was donkey stomping Harvard in football...a sign written on a bed sheet on the Harvard side said..."Its OK...someday you'll work for us"...
Maybe there should be different levels of College football as far as a National Championship series...at the D1 levels...
I know of several schools that have dropped their football programs...because basically they'll never play in the BIG ONE...
Thats sad...

That line is old, under the obammer, It should now read: "We will work in order to support your asses as you wait at home to get your EBT cards recharged"

They already receive a free education, paid tutors, books, and meals. If they have to eat top ramen every night.....so be it. The universities are using the funds they generate in order to comply with Title IX requirements. If they pay these guys on top of giving them degrees, the Title IX sports will start to disappear.....on the Men's side. No baseball, no track, no golf....etc. They will still have to pay for the Womens' sports to comply. It will dessimate the other mens sports.

".....college football is a billion dollar industry..." Tru dat!

I think that those "big-name" organizations in SoCal TB softball are starting to catch up, too.

Hey now....maybe the girls should start a "union" to try and earn back some of the cash the so-called "coaches" have stolen from their parents?????

come on, now. Really, gentlemen?

You think I would have a different comment to make about it...
