Our daughters should always be aware, but I would be careful of phrases like you mentioned Most times there is no way of the victim being aware what the predator is really like, the dog quote again is putting the blame on the victim instead of the perpetrator.

Seems like three different subjects are going on here.
Rape, promiscuity and poor judgement.
The first two are easy, they are what they are.
Rape is violence and the predator could care less about the victim. Power issue and abuse.
Promiscuity is flirting with trouble, and it will catch you sooner or later and drag you down.
The third one is what can sometimes blend to, or help lead to the other two.
This is the one where choices are made. This is the one where you hope and prey that she has heeded your advise.
From who you hang out with, how you behave, how you are when your parents or supervision is not around.
For some, college is that way to get a future, for some others it's party camp.

And if you go to a school where there are rapist you have a 1 in 5 chance of getting raped.... So do online classes.... Stay home with dad and become a nun.... but not in a neighborhood where a rapist live.... and don't where the nun outfit if he thinks its attractive... oh and don't act all nice, helpful and trusting cause then your just asking for it....

Every guy knows what no means, 99% actually listen to it. Those that feel entitled and/or predatory ignore it.

I never said she said no to him, but his legal team sure destroyed her.

He proved that in a court of law, "is" is not is. In many defense rape cases "no" does not mean no. Slime attorneys redefine words and victims cannot rely on our legal system for justice and protection when power and money is involved. Many schools will side with their prized QB first. It is best for our girls to avoid getting into these situations.

Pale rider, I know that is not what you meant,your advice is sound for staying out of trouble, avoiding the bad crowd and behaviors as well preserving one'a reputation. However sexual predators are all among us. They are in all economic, social and racial strata. It could be the blonde guy in th bmw or some guy in a pick up

One of the things most of out daughters have are high self esteem and strong wills(a great benefit of competitive sports). They have no problem asserting themselves. Still nothing wrong with reviewing some of the stats and letting them know they should NEVER feel forced to do something they don't want. They should know any guy that would try to force them should be avoided. They need to be reminded of their own value
