One of the things most of out daughters have are high self esteem and strong wills(a great benefit of competitive sports). They have no problem asserting themselves. Still nothing wrong with reviewing some of the stats and letting them know they should NEVER feel forced to do something they don't want. They should know any guy that would try to force them should be avoided. They need to be reminded of their own value

SAM's message sounds like if your daughter is a slut then she deserves to be treated like one. So if she's involved in a "Gang Bang" and she has sex with the offensive line, running backs, receivers, and then decides WOW I'm tired. I need to get some sleep and some ice. I have a test tomorrow. But the Defensive & Special teams just walked in. And they decide that she's not going anywhere. It's not Rape even if they beat her or tie her down. She is just being held accountable for her actions. Bad message.

Well that's some pretty ridiculous hyperbole but it seems to fit your posting style so carry on. I don't see how telling girls to make good choices has been spun into they deserve what they get by some with a flair for the dramatic but if it makes you feel morally superior you go.
At my kids school the female athletes all know the BB players are, shal we say, less than respectful so they avoid them. The only ones that hang out with them are the ratchets. In that case I guess they get what they want.

I simply say that No means No and nothing justifies a female being sexual assaulted. The fact the schools are not reporting crimes is ridiculous. As far as morally superior I would hope not. I would hope most would agree that it is wrong. But then again, I was not the poster trying to justify the raping. If it was "just be careful" it would've probably stayed at 1 page?
My oldest DD dated a BB player in college. She's not a ratchet... and he's actually a pretty good guy. But if you feel better calling girls who date ballplayers "Ratchets" you go.....

But what will happen - when a girl gets raped - is they will be judged about all of the things that were discussed, their dress, their behavior, etc. - by the police, by the judge, the jury, everyone. Its not right - which does not mean shit. Its the way it is. If you dont believe that, you're nuts. This aint 30 minute cop shows on TV.

I have said this before here and I will say it again. If you catch somebody in the act of raping someone, kill them. Come up with a reason that it is self-defense. I believe that the police will support you. That is probably the last chance the girl will ever have at justice.

My message isn't that she should be treated as she acts, it is that she WILL be treated as she acts. They need to know that. She shouldn't find out after its too late.

So Sam how does your "theory" explain the sexual assault at the service academies? They are not dressed like "sluts", they are being pummeled with liberal sexual views by liberal professors, and the alcohol usage is certainly below that of regular schools.

I agree...

Everyone has to remember College is not real life. This is the reason why this issue is statistically far greater then in everyday life.

It's an oversexed group of young adults and it gets out of hand. Normal people don't have or refer to "gang bangs". Common sense people!!
