It appears her "angle" is increased resources and aid to these countries in Africa to stop it before it gets here. So PDad your pushing for an increase in aid?

I wasn't pushing for anything - I simply provided links to info that isn't widely known or understood about the situation. People can take it along with other info to make their own determinations about the most rational way to deal with this issue.

Well played PDAD :D I was just trying to point out the misleading headline. I for one would prefer fighting this there rather than here.

My point throughout this is- yes Ebola is bad, but diseases like Salmonella or Meningitis are are bad too and they are actually here

I also would prefer to keep it contained over there rather than have to deal with it here. The comparison to Salmonella and Meningitis is poor as those diseases are already widespread and we're much better equipped to deal with them.

The requested medical supplies are very modest and should be a no-brainer. I have tremendous respect for the people fighting it over there and they deserve to be supported.

Additional aid for the general population is what could be problematic and much more costly. The rest of the world needs them to stay in place and not go into a panic-driven mass exodus. Confidence in the supply of basic necessities needs to be maintained despite the border blockades that have cut off trade.

Good article about what is happening there. The interview video I posted earlier talked about how the virus had become urbanized.

In the last couple days I heard it had spread to another neighboring country, making 5 in total, and there were 500 new cases last week, a new high. They also explained a point made in the interview of keeping the dead away from the family - it is customary for the family and loved ones to wash and prepare the body for burial, which is incredibly dangerous.

Hey JR, the CDC could sure use your expertise on Ebola. Tell them to stop panicking since the US does not border an African country, therefore, according to you, makes it almost impossible for it to get here.

I never said "impossible". Just not that likely and that there were other diseases already here that were a greater threat. Poor sanitation, poor medical facilities and an almost hostile attitude towards western me decline are why it continues to spread as well as reappear time and again, but (except for isolated cases) has not spread from the African continent in 40 years

Should we tak
