Kind of like complaining about the police doing racial profiling. I know the perfect way to stop racial profiling. Have it not work.

I see that you all are frustrated. Immigration, legal and illegal is a result of very complicated matters, and the solution is not that simple. In fact the principal reasons that people migrate has always been the same throughout history.

I don't have a solution, then again, I am not complaining. You all haven't proposed one, other than stereotyping, another idiotic one asks that all immigrants must "assimilate" their own point of view of what is being an "American". Like that's going to happen.

So like that same person here said "get over it". Or are you going to get your gun, run to the border and start shooting? You are so American and how Christian of you.

Is it that you all are so paranoid that one day, maybe two hundred years from now, the ones on the cartoon will be two from Mexican/Latino descent (or some other minority/or migrant) is having dinner and the one behind in place of the American Indian is going "ah hem"?

Ah who cares, I don't, just quit saying you are not a racist and then feel free to post stereotypes.

Sure solutions have been proposed, with the primary one being start enforcing the existing laws we have on the books against illegal immigration. But since our elected leaders refuse to do so...often for fear of being labeled racist...all we can do now is gripe and try to keep the importance of the issue in the spotlight.

As far as stereotypes go, they are only problematic or (potentially) racist when they are not IN FACT generally descriptive. If I've posted anything that isn't, please do show me where it was.

"First you get the money, Then you get the power, and then you get the women."

So...we're racist, but we don't have a problem with black Africans or Asians. Riiiight.

We don't care if your face "blends," dummy. We care if your value system blends. We care if you buy into the American values of upward mobility, personal responsibility, and individualism. If you do (and many, many hispanics do), we don't give a crap where you live. If you instead buy into some bullshit group cultural identity--particularly one that is hostile to this country and/or 1st-world values--we're perfectly happy that you'll never be able to afford to move out of the ghetto. And we certainly don't want you here illegally.

I live in an affluent beach community. It's 70% white. The rest are minorities who value good education, personal achievement and upward mobility...and they are welcomed with open arms. Are whites similarly welcome in predominately hispanic communities? Can their kids walk to school safely like minority children can where I live? I think not.

Go peddle your racism drivel someplace where the IQs are lower. We're not buying it here.

Well Skarp, you may think you are not stereotyping, but you are making assumptions that hispanics blend into what you perceive American values of upward, yada, yada. I just do not know how you know that for sure. Help me understand, are you posing that that in order not to be stereotyped by characteristics, one must "blend" with you- look like you, act like you?

I have found (personally in fact), that no matter how hard a minority tries, there will be those who will forcefully remind you that you belong, according to their belief system, to another group. They're outthere, they are here on this thread. Many of those live on communities, such as those where the majority are white and the area is affluent.

Is it that you make a stance that identifying with a cultural heritage is not a good thing; I am sure American Indians still resent being driven from their lands. They still speak and stand against the government today, and proudly wear their colors. So screw them? Or should they continue as stance on what they believe, just like you believe in taking a stance against illegal immigration. Thank God for the USA.

Do whites come into Latino, Black and other neighborhoods, they do, they are called cops.

I think we agree on one thing, illegal immigration should have nothing to do with racism. The challenge for you is to separate both issues. For me, like I said, I do not care what you do just as long you keep it separate issues, and that folks do not stereotype.

Like I said about racial profiling, to make it stop, make it not be true. Same applies to stereotypes.

I live in what would probably be called a middle class neighborhood. Hispanic families on both sides. The one to our left, mom is a school teacher, dad is an engineer. Dad comes from a formerly migrant worker background. He is one of 17 children. Everyone of them followed the cotton fields picking as they grew up , always missing the first 2 weeks of school. All 17 of those kids have a college degree. It aint impossible - requires parents who care and not the damn village.

You mean like it happened for generations of European immigrants that came here legally and embraced the American dream and culture. They learned the language, made sure their kids did as well, did not line up for handouts via social programs, (in fact signed an affidavit that they would not ask for any help from the government and had to have a sponsor that took responsibility for them), and put a priority on education and personal responsibility?

I like how stereotyping has been turned into some evil by the liberals. You know why stereotypes exist? Because they are true more than they are false

Exactly, European immigrants, included millions who escaped famine, war political oppression, too. They jumped on a ship, saw the statue of liberty, stayed- good for them. Here they suffered discrimination, profiling and stereotyping, and at what cost did they assimilate into what you call the american culture? I can assure you most were forced to. Some were lynched, hung, etc. They had to survive someway somehow, there were no ships taking them back, the ocean is a long way to swim. And yes they were white, much easier to be accepted by the mainstream. Their identity, of which there is/was nothing wrong with it, in my opinion, was lost. Mexicans and Latinos were also forced to move up north, ask anyone of the recently migrated, and, if you ask them if they wished that did not have to migrate, I would cut my left nut if they did not respond yes, and that they rather have stayed in their homeland. (But you would have to retrieve my nuts from wife first)

The Mexican and Latino are suffering no less today as your European immigrants then. They here for many reasons. Can you blame them? But this is not what this is all about; I am not going to make an argument about that. Don’t want to make excuses.

But you state that the idea that liberals made stereotyping evil? I do not understand that, how so, are you saying that they came up with the idea of racism?

Racism transcends in all cultures, classes, cultures, liberals and conservatives. It is true what Weekend traveler said, that there are no worse racist than the Mexicans are towards their own citizens, in particular those of direct native descent. Mexico is a Catholic country, serious conservatives. The only difference here is that liberals at least recognize that stereotyping leads to racism, that it exists. . Conservatives hide it as stereotyping, a harmless way of describing a person or individual.

Well, if there are any more responses, I will not say anything else until Monday, I will be celebrating 4th of July weekend with my family. Have a good weekend.

Hey Skarp...Just wondering how many generations it took for your family to make it to that affluent beach community? If you got there in one generation (your generation) and you happen to be an immigrant yourself, well then 'saludos to you amigo'...I take my hat off to you...job well done!! Your family must be proud. But I'm bettin' that it took more than that. Maybe you had parents that could afford to put you through college (or even just offered some help)...or maybe you had a dad or an uncle or a father-in-law that hooked you up with some dream job...or maybe you just were fortunate enough to grow up in this country that offered you 13 years of free education. And as for the 30% minority that lives side by side with you in your affluent beach community (the same ones you welcome with open arms)...I'm betting they've been here a while too.

Oh yeah...you also mentioned that the minorities that live in your affluent beach community are not just your regular old run of the mill minority...but a real special, rare type of minority..ones who "value education, personal achievement and upward mobility"...ummm...Skarp...those are exactly the same reasons that the vast majority of just about every F'n immigrant group (legal, illegal, Mexican or any race) come to this country in the first place. To make a better future for themselves and their loved ones. It might take them some time to make it to that affluent beach community of yours, but they'll get there (but by that time you'll be in Idaho).

One last thing...for any of you that have never seen Spaz before...dude looks like a 100% in the flesh F'n Nazi...so don't take anything he says too seriously.

And while you're at it, ignore everything Einstein did because he looks like a lunatic, and Hawking looks like a retard, so discount his work as well.

Can only wonder what Uno Tres looks like, and why we should believe anything he writes.
