Reid as a former Senator and Pelosi as the first "former" woman speaker. Other than that...it's too bad the O man's not on the ballot! Joe ... just curious about your area etc. .... One thing you didn't mention was how your business is fairing in this economy ... At the end of Bush's ( Dubya' not GW ) presidency you mentioned that business " had never been better " ... Here in Virginia, real estate sales & new home construction is still way off but recovering slowly ... A nearby business ( gas station-mini mart ) was sold at auction last week for less than half of the tax assessment ... unemployment is still very high ... We have seen much stimulus money being spent on road repair construction projects, most recently on bridge work ... Our business has seen some recovery but not much ... contractors are just not working or working on smaller scale projects ... At the end of Dubya's presidency we had our worst 6 months ever back to back ... we have had rough spells since then as well putting together a 3 month record suck at one point ... GERONIMO This one's simple... For the first time in a long time...Virginia voted for the O man (a Dem), and they're getting what they asked for... ...it's called Karma. After that, it's important to understand what a business cycle is...and that presidents have little to do with it. That is, until they want to redistribute your paycheck. Geesh Joe ... Just wondering how the economy was out there ... I understand 'business cycles' very well and have run business' through good times and bad since 1978 ... I never blamed it ALL on Bush (though, it's true, I did not like him) or credited it all, if any of it to any one person or administration ... Just making an observation about how slow the economy is recovering here in VA and wondering if your neck of the woods was the same ... and if your biz was still 'better than ever' or if you have seen a down-turn or stagnation ? ... Re: Biggest Let Downs Of 2010 so far ! The economy in Texas is solid...6-7% unemployment (compared to 10% nationwide), no income tax, Republican dominated statehouse, ample supply of illegal muchachos to exploit...
