I think if I was going to pick one team to win it. All my money would go on So cal Athletics TO
Did you see who they have played and competed against.
They lost 6-1 to Firecrackers Brashear thats one of the best 16u in the nation.

It's the first qualifier in their age group. I assume they are trying to get it out of the way early so they can spend their summer showcasing their girls instead of wasting the entire season trying to qualify.

With all the talent in that field I'd be shocked if any of the Bomber teams to include the Kaos/Bomber team came out of there with a berth. My money is on SC Athletics and maybe a random shocker that no one is even looking at. With the one and done format its all about who is peaking right now. If any of these teams have 2nd yr 14's then I'd say with HS ball coming to a close that those teams that had kids with the extra reps are the odds on favorites. Normally teams that travel eariler are not weaker: they are just getting it out of the way and playing showcases until PGF so their team gets maximum exposure. So when the coaches get to So Cal they have it planned out on which teams they want to see. Don't forget about the TX team that already quailfied( Autsin Stars/ THZ 16U Garcia) they will be going back and only lost a pitcher but retained the rest of their whole squad and picked up another # 1 pitcher along with having a solid # 1 that stayed. They also picked up a couple big bats with speed to complete their team. I cann't wait to see how this weekend unfolds.

Not sure the highschool rule there but in California the girls with a 99 birthdate are playing in High School ball and their team goes "dark" during this time of the year.

This means that most 2nd year 14's are playing high school ball right now and NOT travel ball.

Once high school ball is over ALL of the teams will be playing and competing for a PGF spot with their older players. The competition will be a LOT tougher in SoCal when this happens.

The goal of the good first year 14's team is to go to as many qualifiers while you can before high school ball ends. It will give the team their best shot at qualifying for PGF nationals.

It's single elim for the first Premier berth and double elim for the 2nd Premier berth and the Platinum berth.

Thank you for the clarification P Dad.. :D The 14u bracket looks interesting to say the least. That 12u bracket is sad they should've been able to atrract more than a handful of teams. But if your host team only has to win two games to get a berth then I guess you're happy. I guess i didn't see that one coming.
