I posted who is playing on previous page. I couldn't load bracket because it was to big. Sorry. Here it is though.

Weather forecast for bryan tournament looks encouraging. 60's - 70's. Hope it holds true. Take that element out of the picture. Lots of quality teams. Should be some great games in this one. Fans should love this kind of action this early in the season.

Varsity with Bryan's JV and varsity. Perks of hosting, I guess

TGCA 2014 Preseason Polls

2014 Texas Girls Coaches Association Softball Poll
Pre-Season Poll
February 6, 2014

Class 1A

1. Weimar
2. Beckville
3. Alto
4. Albany
5. Shiner
6. Ganado
7. Grapeland
8. Junction
9. Hubbard
10. Petrolia

Also: Flatonia, Trenton, Harleton, Colmesneil, Neches, Lovelady, Slocum, Dodd City and Sam Rayburn

Comments: Alto has looked very good in scrimmages and is swinging the bat very well. Weimar, Flatonia and Ganado have all got enough talent to make that a brutally tough district. Jordan Withro is back at Trenton.

Previous Champions
2013- Weimar
2012- Flatonia
2011- Shiner
2010- Forsan
2009- Forsan
2008- Shiner

Class 2A

1. East Bernard
2. Mount Vernon
3. Santa Gertrudis Academy
4. Brock
5. Garrison
6. Danbury
7. Pilot Point
8. Hallettsville
9. Crawford
10. Whitewright

Also: Natalia, Gladewater Sabine, Comanche, Coahoma, Hawley, Bruceville-Eddy, Whitesboro and Troy.

Comments: Samantha Show transferred in from Pearland along with a couple of other standouts making East Bernard a prohibitive favorite to dethrone Pilot Point. Santa Gertrudis has the pitching duo of Celeste Castillo and Celestial Gomez plus pretty good hitting. Mt. Vernon, who lost to Brock in regionals, returns pitcher plus seven while Brock looks very solid. Natalia returns Charlene Castro and eight starters and should be very good but is in the same region as East Bernard. Gladewater Sabine returns nine starters from an Area finalist team while Boling returns eight players.

Previous Champions
2013- Pilot Point
2012- Crawford
2011- Danbury
2010- George West
2009- Brock
2008- East Bernard

Class 3A

1. LaGrange
2. Mineola
3. Burkburnett
4. Bridge City
5. Kennedale
6. Liberty Hill
7. Columbia
8. Lufkin Hudson
9. Caldwell
10. Sealy

Also: Andrews, Van, Sweeny, Orangefield and Kingsville.

Comments: LaGrange looked great winning the January Round Rock non-UIL tournament. The Leopards have a solid defense and strong hitting. Samantha Junkin is back for Liberty Hill while Huffman Hargrave looks good in scrimmage led by Loren Dempsy who is pounding the long ball. Despite graduation losses, Sweeny is poised to crack into the top ten. Rikkilyn Hass is back on the mound for Mineola who returns a strong nucleus although a late start due to basketball players is anticipated. Kristi Rangel is back for Kingsville.

Previous Champions
2013- Lufkin Hudson
2012- Lufkin Hudson
2011- Celina
2010- Paris North Lamar
2009- Needville
2008- Huntington

Class 4A

1. Buda Hays
2. Aledo
3. Elgin
4. Little Cypress-Mauriceville
5. Mansfield Legacy
6. Leander
7. New Caney
8. Tomball Memorial
9. Barbers Hill
10. Richmond Foster

Also: Crosby, Lucas Lovejoy, Dayton, Ridge Point, Nederland and Vidor.

Comments: Hays graduated five starters but pitcher Sara Leal is back. Leander returns southpaw Hannah Holt while Elgin has Staci Johns on the hill. New Caney has six starters including both pitchers back. Little Cypress Mauriceville did graduate three starters; however, they return a great lineup, a pitcher who was 13-0 and a powerful transfer.

Previous Champions
2013- Buda Hays
2012- Smithson Valley
2011- Santa Fe
2010- Waco Midway
2009- New Braunfels Canyon
2008- Aledo

Class 5A
1. Deer Park
2. Clear Springs
3. Lewisville
4. Katy Cinco Ranch
5. Kingwood
6. Pearland
7. Flower Mound
8. Smithson Valley
9. The Woodlands
10. San Benito

Also: Brazoswood, Austin Bowie, Marcus, San Antonio O’Connor, Austin Westlake and Round Rock Stony Point.

Comments: Deer Park has re-loaded with an extremely strong travel squad bunch of players while Dani Elder over at Clear Springs has committed to A&M and will make an immediate impact as will Carli Cumpton who transferred in last week. Cinco Ranch returns an amazing 12 all district section including uber pitcher Kayla Ober.

Previous Champions
2013- Lewisville
2012- Deer Park
2011- The Woodlands
2010- Pearland
2009- Smithson Valley
2008- Alvin

The rankings look to be changing in 2A with the news that came out today on transfers.

All I can say is WOW. Life will go on. We love East Bernard.

Thanks for everyone's prayers and the lack of not hating on me while this process was going on.

Go Brahmarettes!!!! The JV team just got instantly better.. :D

Is there a chance to appeal?

Didn't someone do that last year and was granted the right to play.

Yes there is an appeal process in Austin. There is a fee involved but its minimal really about $100. Paige McDuffee from the Woodlands a couple years ago had to go through the same process. I dont know all the details but believe that if appealed she could play this season.

If not I feel for that 2A jv catcher......
