Top '95 & '96 teams in South Texas...

by Lunatic Fringe » Mon Mar 24, 2008 5:57 pm

As things develop this Spring, I would like your feedback on who you feel the top '95 & '96 teams are. As I've seen so far, tough teams last September look pretty mortal in March.

I heard that 95 Deer Park TPS lost 4-5 top players. After them placing 5th at the Bombers I am beginning to think it is true. Sad story when a good team splits. Hopefully they can rebuild quickly.

I've noticed that the Spring Sting is also trolling for players right now. Injuries or defections?

The Sting has very much suffered from a rash of injuries.
1. Rotator issues that required an operation.
2. Strained or sprained ACL from basketball.
3. Broken wrist from volleyball.
4. Illness that required operation.

With a roster of 11 that knocked the team down pretty good.

 ...and they wonder why softball coaches worry when its time for them to start playing other sports. Good luck and I hope for a speedy recover to the Spring Sting Girls

What about Texas Aces and 96 Texas Peppers. These two 96 teams beat out alot of 95 teams to win the Bombers tournament this year.

Who did the 96 play? TPS, Bombers, and Flamers???
The top 95's weren't there.....Groove, Sting, Velocity
The others were playing in the 14u division.....Stix and Blaze.
TPS isn't the same strong team. Flamers....good, but not quite Elite. Bombers were probably the closest to Elite of the three. Stix, Blaze, and Travelers played 14u because the 12u field was very strong.
Good Job to the 96's, its still a quality accomplishment.....just make sure to take it as it is......be careful who you call out.

These teams aren't calling out anyone; I'm not even from one of these teams. It was just a stated since they did so well at the Bombers. Regardless of weather or not 3 of the ???top???? '95 12U teams played up or not, these two '96 teams obviously did great.

This was a big accomplishment for two young/new teams out of a field of 26 teams. Great job ladies!! Just because you are not a '95 team doesn't mean that you can do great in 12U!!!
After all, RR Blaze, 95 Travelers, 95 Glory did good last year as the babies of 12U (They even won some 12U and 14U).

I understand what "Yplay" is saying and he/she has a point.

But in all fairness to the Aces and Peppers, you can only play who shows up. They did a good job.
