I hate to see this. I graduated early from high school because I was in a big hurry to start college. I've regretted it my whole life. Missing the spring of my high school senior year effectively broke the bonds I had with the kids I had spent the last 3 1/2 years of high school with. By the time I came back in June to 'walk' at the graduation ceremony, everything had changed. It's something you don't realize the ramifications of unless you experience it.

I doubt you would have made that decision if you had strong bonds with your classmates. IME, you didn't miss as much as you think you did.

I wonder if avoiding the new DI eligibility rules played a part in it...

She's a member of NHS, so I doubt it.

If you say so, but her article only says honor roll. The MS pitcher's article says NHS.

The changes require 10 core classes before senior year and 7 have to be English, math and science. The 7 E/M/S are tripping up some students that will meet all the other requirements.

On a general note, it seems graduating mid-year could be a viable strategy for non-qualifiers to become eligible for what would have been their first college season if they'd stayed in HS.

Nothing sadder than someone trying to be a smartass, and not even being close to pulling it off.

To All Softball Enthusiasts~

Wishing all a Happy and Merry Christmas. As one that now looks at HS Softball in the rear view mirror, all those still currently in the arena of development and watching should enjoy the moments as they are fleeting. Argue, disagree, agree, debate, laugh, all here share a common enthusiasm for the game. The game is a great sport in that it teaches many life lessons.

For kids,.. sports teaches character. For parents... sports can reveal character.

Keep the faith and I can assure you that once the HS and Travel seasons conclude, the number of memories that will remain will be more favorable. Enjoy the journey. Certainly there is much to be thankful

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. 2015 was a good one and so will 2016.
