HSE Spring Classic May 3rd - 5th

Looks like another crappy weekend of weather for this one. Hopefully the rain holds off.

Let's look at the Pool Matchups:

14u
Pool C: Potential rematch from a couple weeks ago with Indy Crush 2000 vs Edge '99. Probably one of the best matchups of the weekend.
I see 3 or 4 teams that could take this tournament.

12u
Pool A: Potential matchup of Indy Diamond Chix and IN Gators 2000 in 2nd game of Pool Play. And the way the brackets are setup, this will probably be your matchup for the winner bracket semi-final game (and championship game as well).
The rest of the field looks to be fighting for 3rd in this tournament.

10u
Overall looks to be the most competitive of the 3 age groups.

My picks are Indy crush 10u, gators00, and Indy edge99. Those look like the dominant teams in the 3 age groups!

Is it really that surprising that they are playing this well in the 14s?

Perhaps they should come back to the 12s and smack us little tykes around a bit?

Nah, not their style. Improving as individuals and a team, not trophies, is why they play the game.

Good competitive tournament. Most improved team I witnessed was Indy Crush 10U. By mid summer this team will be considered one of the best. Watched them beat Zephyrs 9-2 today against Zephyrs ace. Hard to.believe they have a mix of '02 & '03 girls. One of their parents told me their shortsstop and their 1st baseman were both '03. Having watched them struggle in the fall when we played them, I.could not believe the improvement. Hats off to the organization. Congrats to Edge for the tourney win..but it would have been nice to see Edge vs Indy Crush in final as I was told that Crush has beaten them the last two meetings. June and July will be super competitive. Good luck to all!

Great weekend with 13 teams playing ball. Both Crush teams played hard all weekend long. HSE Cats Johnson was also strong. Zephers pitcher was definately on her game this weekend. Hats off to the Indy Edge '02 these girls fought with hart to come from behind in several games. Look forward to seeing all these great teams soon.
