Congrats to tournament champs Gators '02.

They showed heart winning the tournament while not producing the hitting that they usually show. I think the outcome would have been a higher scoring championship game had they hit to their potential. I believe they were the team to beat there.

Well great weekend of softball by the Mafia and everyone else there. Championship game between us and the gators was good if it had not been for a couple of errors would have been a different outcome. Think it's going to be a great year in 10u several good teams out there that at any weekend could come home champions. Congrats to the Gators 02 on another one.

I don't know if I can be unbiased but I think I can comment on what I saw this weekend not so much as a coach but as a softball fan.

I too, was proud to be a part of this weekends games. The championship game today was an excellent game between 2 very competitive and talented teams. What a true joy to watch. I was impressed by Red Mafia's pitcher, Karli, who after taking a hard shot off the shin early in the game came out the following inning to take the mound. She pitched well today and finished the game with what has to be a nice bruise on her shin. She has definitely been working hard! As a fan, I have to mention the double that Elaine #26 (Mafia) hit in the final inning to drive in Mafia's second run and close the lead to within 1 run (3-2). It was a great hit! Hats off to her.

Zephyrs looked good. A little rusty at times after a layoff but good talent on that team. We're looking forward to good games moving forward. Coach Davis daughter, lefty, pitched a good game against us and continues to improve.

The Indy Crush had some heart breaking games. Tori, lefty pitcher, pitched an amazing pool game vs Red Mafia. She has excellent speed and control! Crush had bases loaded twice in game with no outs but give Mafia credit they buttoned down the hatches and didn't allow any runs to score. Crush lost 1-0. Crush had the lead versus MattoonPride but one bad inning took them out. Lost 2-3 in a 6am this morning game versus Zephyrs. Sorry I didn't see that one. I think Crush has had a little layoff as well since last tourney but are looking good and will only get better.

Black Mafa 2003 (I think) entered the 2013 season with their first tourney appearance. I wish them good luck. It's always hard starting with mostly if not all first year players but the only way to get better is to play.

IN Extreme is in same boat and played well at times. Girls all learning the game and they learned some valuable lessons this weekend and I'm sure they'll go back and continue to work hard.

All and all it was an excellent weekend of softball and for a fan like myself there's no place I'd rather be! Good luck everyone!
