Top 14u-16u teams

by softball_rules5 » Tue Oct 23, 2012 10:37 am

It was on here before, but can't find it anymore so I'll start it again. As the fall winds down, who are the tops in 14u-16u?

Extreme is a smart and good team, I would take the Indiana Diamonds over the Extreme. Even though my daughter dont play for Diamonds. IMO, Diamonds are a good team. The year doesn't mean anything anymore when you get to 14u. It's still early for 14u. 8th graders and freshman. I guess we will find out in June

Indiana Diamonds, Magic Gold, Indiana Prospects, Indy Dreams, NWI Sox, Valpo Phoenix are in the conversation in 14U

Haven't seen the Shockwaves 98, but suspect they have a good team.

So an all 1st year 14U team won't be a better team next year thru development/experience? I disagree the age factor does still make a difference. My guess is Xtreme will be much better next year as an older 14u team. I do agree as they get older the gap narrows but its still a factor. Especially, with an all 99' roster.

So an all '99 team is tops in 14u with the '98 teams such as Magic Gold, Shockwaves, Dreams, and Prospects? Most of those teams aren't even playing 14u right now, they're up in 16's. Interesting.

The thread says top 14U and 16U TEAMS not team. Yes, I do believe Xtreme has one of the better 14U teams in IN and they are are a 99 team.

Interesting that you would think that a team that hasn't even played a 16u tournament would be considered one of the best 14u in Indiana. Not taking anything from the Xtreme, they are very good. Just find it interesting to think they are in the same class of some of the '98 teams.

Softball5,

Yes, just my opinion and it is very early. Maybe I am not familiar enough with the other teams to comment accurately. They did I believe win the 14 state tourney last year as 12's. Granted it was 14B but still a pretty good accomplishment. Have they played any of the teams you mentioned? Maybe we will find out soon enough? Lets agree they are one of the better 14 teams that aren't playing 16U?

Thanks
