Fall will not tell much for this age group. However I would let the Monster Mash pick who is the spring team to beat.

Heck of lineup there, Pat. If we weren't committed in Illinois we would be there for sure.

Mafia Red has a solid group. They have good pitching and hitting. If Red Alert beat them (12-11 in championship) then it would mean the Red Alert is a solid team.

I do not feel there is a 10U front runner. There are a group of teams that could beat each other on any given day. NWI always has competitive teams. The White Sox and Bulldogs are two of them. The only way to judge the best is to play. Let's not sit here and pump up our own team but let it all fall out on the field.

Regardless there are some great teams in the state for this age group and we should all be very proud of the work we are doing.

Let's stop worrying about who is the best in the state and work hard to make Indiana softball the best in the midewest. Anyway, the best won't be known until July at the earliest.

That being said I want to add a shout out to the 2001 Gators who showed Indiana Softball is as good as anyone in the country this summer in Bloomington.

I think it's a lot early to talk about domination....do they have talent? Absolutely
Are they well coached? Absolutely
Great organization? Check that one off as well

Domination? It's October.....

I respectfully agree with everything Kidcanhit wrote...this will all sort itself out in 8 months, lets enjoy the ride.

I appreciate Gator parents being excited about their team (noting the coach has not said a word).

Do me a favor, Gators, wait until after this weekend and then the Mash. If you win them both, I will say you are the team to beat in Indiana and I have zero affiliation with you. If you lose however, be good enough to give the team that beats you props.

Appreciate the props Stimp but it is early and we've got a lot of work to do. We just strive to get better each week at practice and at tourneys. We got off to a good start but our goal is on player and team improvement and not on winning. Yes we want to be successful but I define success by our overall improvement not wins. The wins will come when we play good ball. Our ultimate goal this season is to qualify for ASA Nationals so we've got our job cut off for us. Last year's 10u Gator team set the bar pretty high!!!

I would like to say the Hoosier Crush '02 and Indy Edge '02 were pretty tough and have some strong talent so I'm sure they'll be in the mix as well!

Good luck everyone this weekend and next ! I'm fired up about the Mash! Should be great!!
