I don't know if I've already told this story on The Bucket yet, but I got to meet some of the nicest parents I have ever met (so far in travel ball) on a 12U Georgia Crusader team in Roseville in 2007.
We had them for a game and we were on the field warming up. We see our opponents nearing the field and our whole team full of 5-foot-nothing girls froze and mouths were hanging open. It seems an all black team with girls ranging from @ 5'5" to 6'0"+ tall at 12 years old can be intimidating.
I remembered that team not just from their height, but because they were incredibly and honestly friendly, even enjoyable as they kicked our butt.
