How old and level of ball is she playing? What area would you like take your lessons? Is she a slapper? How far are you willing to travel?

Please define uppercut. Or if you don't want to, is this an uppercut? http://imageevent.com/siggy/hitting/ull ... =4&s=0&z=9

The first swing path u shared in the first vid would not be as effective on the pitch shown in the 3rd one. Much less south to north on the 3rd hack.

You don't like the first swing? Which of these would be an uppercut?

I added another view of the third swing it sounds like you liked?

First swing path was fine on that pitch. She crushed it. That swing path is taught to be used on every pitch then it starts looking like an upper cut. The shorter more level swing is more effective on an up pitch. Thats one thing I learned trying to hit those for 25 years.

Are any of the clips showing an uppercut?

Nope.

If that same swing path was used on a hard up pitch than yes on that one!
Played with plenty ofMLB players who struggled hitting Fastpitch. It's not only their eye level change. It's swing path.

Thanks for being responsive. That swing plane does have a slight upward tilt to it. But as with elite swings, the swing plane is parallel to the shoulder rotation plane (assuming the hitter wasn't fooled and the pitch wasn't so down and in as to be beyond the hitter's flexibility limits). Clip one is a four year all American. Gomez was all American though I don't recall how many times. Wouldn't be surprised if Evans was but in any case she was a great D1 hitter.

As to hitting, I believe in letting the high pitch be called a ball regardless of what spin it has on it. Lotief believes in hitting that pitch out regardless of what the ump might call it. And I certainly don't have the resume to question him.

In my opinion, Rivera's swing is as good a model for a middle of the order hitter as I've seen a fp player demonstrate. Having said that, the best high pitch hitter I ever saw was Gomez. You throw it chin high inside black to her and the pitcher was going to need another ball.
