CIF Pitching Rules

by msbdg1401 » Sun Jun 07, 2015 9:20 am

While watching the CIF Championship games, I noticed that the pitchers were not putting both feet on the pitchers plate. Does CIF play under USSSA rules. I would think that all high schools would play under ASA pitching rules of putting both feet on the pitching plate.

CIF falls under NFHS rules. Can't quote the exact rule but I believe they allow for one foot to be behind the rubber.

PDad has it. The pitcher is also allowed take a backward step that begins before the hands come together.

Thanks for the info. Just not sure how this would benefit the picture and when a girl is getting ready to go to college, why she would want to do that motion.
