14u North Texas PGF Qualifier predictions

I will get it started. I only know a few of the teams from Texas but will give it a shot so here it is:

Two winner's bracket berths:
1. OC Batbuster's Bracamonte
2. OC United

Two loser's bracket premier berths:
1.Mizuno Impulse 01
2.Tulsa Elite

Two platinum berths:
1. FC Hickman
2.Texas Glory Adkins

You do know that Texas is one of the most competitive softball markets in the country, right? With mostly TX teams, I'm thinking there are probably a couple teams that blow through at 4-0. Do Texas players have to go dark during HS season, as they do in So Cal. If so, are all the '00's back from HS? I'm hoping the So Cal teams can hang with the Lone Stars.

Lmao Pdad. I just looked at the weather. 80% chance Friday, Saturday and Sunday, with the likelihood of thunderstorms. Has PGF canceled this event yet? The director should probably cancel it so the out of state teams aren't out a grand or so.

HS players do not ever go dark in Texas. Typically HS players don't play 14U though either. There are some exceptions but you won't see rosters full of freshman like you do on the west coast.

I have a feeling pdad is right and rain takes all 6 berths, but for sake of conversation...
I'll go with Impact Gold out of the top and Glory Futures out of the bottom.
2 Cali teams in the LB to round it out.

Dallas, most of the top first and second year 14u Socal teams also play 16u until high school starts. Then the 8th graders play other 8th graders until high school is finished. Looking at the Texas Glory Futures team, either all but one of those players is held back or they're 9th graders (2018). They play 16u then drop down to 14u for nationals, just like every where else. So yes, the Texas teams will have all their 9th graders available and will be playing 14u. The west coast teams won't have their 9th graders for a few more weeks.

So the rosters are full of freshman, that's my point.

I did say typically. That team is an exception. Most teams from NTX do not play 14u as freshman nationals or otherwise. There are other exceptions too. It's not a rule. Just...as stated...typical.
