This is the best way to determine that. Check out CPI(college placement index) ranking.

Corona Angels have been ranked 1st since the pole started a few years back. Many other orgs ranked well and some surprises. Wins don't necessarily equal college placement. Navigate through each team and see who has gone where.

YMMV with that - and the verbal lists too - because some org's take credit for players that committed prior to joining them.

No baloney here... It's the team the DD signs the LOI with. The amount of team swapping breaks even over time. I get it if it was annually but this is multiple years considered. Can't steal that many players...

IMHO this pole says it all. I guess someone will find a way to be a skeptic.

NLI would be a clean way to run it, Richard, however NLI has little to do with how that team does placing players and it isn't being followed as a standard.

The game of musical chairs that happens between when the actual recruiting occurred and when they sign their NLI doesn't break even for the orgs without a high-level 18U team. Also, some 18U teams have been extremely successful by attracting top committed players from other orgs and they don't deserve their high CPI.

Note: I think Corona Angels deserve their high CPI ranking.

Over the last couple years travel ball has changed into more of a business type Orgs. Now you have Team/Orgs with well over 1 team in each age group. The cold hard fact is that you still need to be on the right team in each of these Orgs. It seems a lot of folks think that by wearing a FC or BB sweater they are suddenly elevated to elite level softball. We all know that is just not the case. Until we see some nobody coach in one of these Orgs come out kick every ones butts you are just donating to the principals.

As to recruiting, you do not have to be in one of the big named Orgs. to get signed to D1 or any other level. If your kid is good & your coach is playing in the right events & having your players take action in their own recruiting , you will be seen & committed. Their are a lot f independent teams that get kids signed year after year. The other myth with the big names was that it would get you on the main fields at showcases. Well that is just untrue as well. You can look at the past schedules of Surf City, TCS etc & see that yes the big names have teams on the best fields but look at the coaches its the same ones over and over & all the others in the big Orgs are all over the place.

Another myth is that if I join them now I will get on their 18u team. Maybe but your DD has the same shot that a kid who was never in the Org does.

IMO: the Org will not get you anything.
If the coaching is good & they are teaching fundamentals, and they are working the recruiting process.
Weather they are in a big Org, or not is what you should be looking at.
