Where can we Demo bats in Orange County or L.A.?

by CLX_MOM » Thu Aug 21, 2014 8:45 am

Daughter needs a new bat but she would like to demo a couple. Is there a place in Orange County or Los Angeles where she can do this? She has the new Legit or Xeno in mind. Any suggestion??? Thanks.

Kim at USA Elite Sports Training (I think that's what it's called) in Mission Viejo rents bats to try out. If I remember right $15 for a week and its applied to the purchase if you buy a new bat. She doesn't sell the rental bats. Sometimes you have to wait for the bat?size you want to try.

They don't have Xenos or Legits to demo, at least not in March or the end of July, only Eastons and DeMarinis. My daughter was interested in trying an LXT, but they didn't have one to demo. I e-mailed Louisville in March to let them know, and they said they'd send a rep in to stock the demo cage, but they never did. She ended up trying and loving a CF6 Insane - they lost a kid who was swinging a Xeno since she was nine.

Monkey sports only allows you to demo in their cage, can't take it with you.

Sports USA is in Laguna Hills, not Mission Viejo. You pay $15 for a week. You take it to practice, games, lessons,, etc... She applies that $15 toward the purchase price of a new bat. This is the only way to go. My daughter will only buy a bat she can demo first. It's too big of an investment to go in to blindly.

Hands down, call or visit Kim at Sports USA. She cares. Excellent selection and availability. When my daughter needed to replace her dead bat, Kim came in on her day off when the store was closed and spent over an hour soft tossing to her while she ruled out different bats (over 20 between manufacturers and sizes) to get to the best bat for her. We can't say enough and have told many others of Kim's commitment to the players and the sport.

How is the pricing at Sports USA compared to others? Would ideally want to purchase from someone putting in the time to allow you to demo but wonder if the pricing is competitive.
