Stockton 18U Gold Qualifier

by Mike Lednovich » Wed Jun 24, 2009 2:45 pm

Love the picks and speculation, but reality says the best team doesn't always win.

2008 Super Bowl Giants over then undefeated Pats
1980 US over USSR hockey
2007 Appalachian State over Michigan
1969 Jets over Colts

etc.
etc.

Just happened a couple of hours ago; USA beat Spain in soccer, 1st loss since 2006 or something like that. These picks however seem pretty solid, anything can happen. Good luck to all the teams.

Soccer????? hmmmm---does that count :?: :?:

Yes there is always the chance of an upset and the best team does not always win however, they do win A LOT and that’s why they are tagged with that “best team” label in most match ups.

And stop using that soccer word on here

Absolutely correct, they win the vast majority of the time especially at the 18 Gold level. However, it's why they play the games. You've got to earn it.

Trust me, I'm not a fan of the sport. Just thought it was cool for USA to pull a major upset, regardless of my personal feelings of the so called sport. :)

Who's batting lead off for them these days?

Dont know the young ladies name, however the Explosion have a dynamite lead off hitter she is a force at that spot for them. Everytime I caught some of their games she was on first heading to second and that is no exaggeration.

I believe she will be going to Northwestern next year. Will be very interesting to see how people stop her and Allard(Sorcerer-Phil) from constantly setting the table for those big hitters in the middle.

Northwestern will be very good in the coming years, but what else is new.

Her name is Kristin Scharkey and DBHHitting is right. Northwestern is going to have two of the best table setters out there with Allard and Scharkey.
