New San Diego Renegades Board

by SDRenegadesOrg » Mon Jun 30, 2014 11:59 am

To: The Current San Diego Renegades Managers and 2013-2014 Board

From: The 2014-2015 San Diego Renegades Board

Regarding: Future Status of the San Diego Renegades Softball Organization

To Whom It May Concern:

The May 19th 3-2 Board vote to merge with TNL and begin a new organization, prompted a time of reflection for each of the current San Diego Renegades Managers (Members).

After much discussion, the current managers of the San Diego Renegades as members to the organization have voted on June 4th (per section 4.11) to instill a new Board effective that day. Per the Bylaws, each team Manager is considered a member of the organization. Due to the relatively small size of our organization, the new Board has elected to include one representative from each team within the Association on the Board of Directors. This representative will be the team Manager or the person they designate to act on their team’s behalf. Final positions on the Board are TBA and will be determined within the next two weeks.

In addition, the new Board of the San Diego Renegades voted to reverse the May 19th vote on the merger. The new Board believes in the current model of The San Diego Renegades and felt to continue would be in the best interest of the girls and families in our organization and San Diego in general.

While this hasn’t been the easiest of decisions, these actions were necessary in order to keep the San Diego Renegades intact and moving forward. Each team has expressed their desire to keep our current organizational structure in place and follow through on the promises made to our respective players and families. While the concept of the TNL structure may be a good one, it’s just not a direction we are willing to go.

All Renegades funds currently in the account will remain property of the San Diego Renegades. Also, all monies owed should be repaid to the organization, and property purchased with Renegades monies shall be returned by August 15, 2014.

We thank all of the coaches that have contributed so much over the years and without a doubt, the San Diego Renegades would not be where we are today without all your hard work. We understand that sometimes changes need happen and people need to go their separate directions in order to pursue their respective goals.

We would like to extend a special thanks to Adam Mena (former Vice President/co founder) and Daniel Aguirre (former President) for their many years of service to our club. We wish you nothing but good fortune with your new MM7 facility and your future with TNL.

We would also like to extend an invitation for the 12U Robert Hirt/Jon Musgrove team to remain San Diego Renegades and would appreciate if you would let us know of your decision as soon as possible.

Sincerely,

Glenn Bovee, President
Tony Silveira, Vice President
Jon Stern, Treasurer
Josh Haessly, Secretary
Rich Cordova, Player Agent
Everett Evleth, Uniform/Equipment

This is truly another example of subpar/rec coaches trying to be something they are not. Another good organization with a long history destroyed.

Being someone who knows what really went down, this is a joke and a shame.
