All the So Cal teams "earned" their berth by playing in the ASA So Cal State tournament. Not sure about No Cal.

And now ASA is requiring a certain amount of rooms to be booked through them, more money grabbing.

 Yea $850.00 just to play + travel, hotel, food and pony rides.

VegasDad - The ASA started the room requirement after one national tournament where teams could not get hotel or motel rooms because teams that had reservations that did not earn a berth did not release the rooms until the last minute. Of course the blame fell on the regional ASA group. ASA then started blocking rooms and holding them for teams that qualified this way all teams had a place to stay.
