Top 14u So Cal Teams

by Slappydad » Sat Feb 01, 2014 6:45 pm

It was mentioned on the other thread but who are the top 14u teams? Second year 14's that impress? First year 14 that can take a PGF title? Thoughts?

Well, I guess I'll bite... just based on PGF returning births and invites, you have (in So Cal)

So Cal Athletics Quarles
So Cal Choppers Moore
Corona Angels Perez
OC Batbusters Marinacci
Firecrackers Lutterloh
Power Surge Berndes

So many of the better teams play 16U exclusively, so it's hard to remember who's still technically in 14s but other notable teams I can think of in no particular order

So Cal Athletics - TO Mercado
OC Batbusters - McGowan
Firecrackers - Ensey
Quakes - Diaz
So Cal Athletics - Natividad

I know I'm missing some good ones. Help me out people.

Of the teams listed above I have had the opportunity to see the Angels, Firecracker- lutterloh, Quakes team, pumas black and Firecracker-redmand team play.

The two that looked best to me where the two firecracker teams redmand and Lutterloh. I was impressed most with both of their pitching and the Redmand team hit the S out of the ball! My daughters teams pitching isn't stellar but none the less I couldn't believe they were a 14s team.

The Angels team was good also not as deep as the other two but could absolutely beat then on any given day.

I thought the Pumas were a solid squad as well with a lot of potential. It is going to be interesting this summer.

I hope to see the other teams mentioned play in the summer.

Not so sure about Choppers Moore. 1st year 14U, changed orgs and tied for 9th in 12U last year. How'd they get an invite anyway???
