10 yr old Local Softball Player diagnosed with Cancer

by VV03 » Tue Apr 28, 2009 7:54 am

Hi everyone,
This has been a tough week for the La Mirada Girls Softball Association. This Saturday the softball fields were filled with Pink balloons and all the girls were wearing pink ribbons in support of Hannah. We were told that one of our girls in the La Mirada Girls Softball Association has breast cancer. The youngest ever, Hannah is just 10 years old. Hannah is a beautiful girl with smiling eyes. The real problem is her age. The doctors are torn on how to treat her. She is the first case for pediatrics and they don't have the knowlede of how to treat a child so young. A lot of specialists are coming together for the battle ahead. She played her last game of the season this weekend because she will undergo another operation to remove the rest of the tumor from her breast and start chemotherapy this week. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers. Hannah’s parents set up a website for her feel free to check it out and if you have some supportive words for her, she would love to read them.

Thanks for the support everyone.

We will keep this brave and courageous girl in our thoughts and prayers. I think this puts lots of things in perspective for me and makes all the craziness that has been happening in 12u seem even more ridiculous. This should definitely make people think twice about the truly important things in life.

Stories like this really makes everything else in life seem so menial. Our prayers go out to Hannah and her family.
