Please take a moment...

Received word from some old friends that an icon in girls FP is in an epic battle.
For those of you who have played in Northern California and also in Huntington Beach and Las Vegas, you may recognize the Fire & Ice organization. Very well thought of team, great bunch of kids and very well coached.

The head coach Earl and his wife Mavis have run this organization for several years and have been heavily vested in Girls Fastpitch Softball in the Sacramento area for many years. They have brought two daughter through the program with the eldest being part of the reigning 16u National Champion Lady Magic and recently signing to play at LSU. The youngest is a stellar 12u pitcher and infielder with F&I and is no slouch and will likely follow in her sister's footsteps in coming years...

Recently, Mavis was diagnosed with Stage 4 Lung Cancer which has now spread to other areas, forcing her to step back from much of her daily routine. She's battling the disease but needs your help. As fellow families in our very tight-knit community of Fastpitch Softball, it would be a wonderful thing if everyone could take a moment to say a prayer for Mavis and sign the guestbook at her Caring Bridge website. Mavis reads these posts and knowing the prayers and well wishes of so many out there, it would go a long way toward helping her battle!

Find her page at http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/mavisheyward
. Feel free to read the journal, but make sure you visit her guestbook and leave a posting of support and I'm sure she'd love to hear of all the different teams!

Thanks to those of you who have taken a moment out of your busy day for Mavis.
The Fresno Tournament was a good chance for the family to escape the day-to-day realities and she, along with her family, continually express their deepest appreciation for those who have reached out to them!

If you haven't been there yet, please take a moment and let's fill their guestbook book up!
