TCS Dancing in The Desert Schedule - Will they ever learn?

by HighHeat » Wed Mar 11, 2009 7:28 pm

I know this thread is similar to one about the HB Classic in January and late nights, but TCS needs to wise up and limit the number of teams in their tournaments. There are 22 teams in the tournament and 8 teams will be starting their last game of pool play at 8:00 pm in Soboba.

The game time itself is not a big deal. The fact that its in Soboba (when it was advertised as Hemet), and there is no decent lodging at a reasonable price nearby, makes for a very late night. Our team will probably not get back on the road until 10:00 pm and we still have nearly a 1 hour 45 minute drive back home. To top it off we could end up in an 8:00 am game on Sunday.

I know, quit whining its travel ball. Win your pool and you won't play until later. You don't have to play in the tournament. TCS is a business and is in it for the money. I get all that.

But, there needs to be some sanity brought back into the TCS tourney scheduling!

High,

Did you have any problem getting directions. When I used Yahoo maps it kept saying invalid address and took me to a dump on an Indian Reservation. I used Mapquest and it had the fields a few miles behind a locked gate in the back of the Indian Reservation. I guess these are new fields or something.
To each their own.

I assume the directions I have are correct. When I look at the location on satellite it sems like its in the middle of nowhere. But, these are new fields and I'm told very nice.

We played there last year you go through the guardhouse through the Indian Reservation and its all the way in the back and you cross over a wooden bridge that is kinda scary, beautiful facility once you get there.

From Lake Park Dr you turn right on Soboba Rd and then left on at Castile Canyon Rd Destination will be on the right.

They had a shooting at the football fields a couple years ago too. Plus mountain lion sightings... better not go looking for lost balls... Actually, the address on the TCS site is wrong, just go to the casino, pass it and go through the guard gate, make first left and BAM! follow until you end at the fields and don't forget to check out the buffalo along the way....

Just a suggestion try looking for rooms in Beaumont, it's about 20 mins form the Reservation.

So I guess we should ditch the idea of staying overnight in our motorhome in the parking lot.
