Top 12 teams from State going...

by DodgerBlue's » Sun Feb 01, 2009 2:35 pm

Am I the only one saying its about time we get some love from ASA and them allowing more teams from States to got to Nationals. TOP 12

This should make things very exciting in June.

Bonus:
Our NEW 14U commissioner gave us his cell # and says he returns emails..( we will see) :D

The 12 berths are likely only for this year...as mentioned at the meeting it is likely to settle at 8 in coming years. Still better then before...12 is a bit much though in my opinion.

Jay Creps (and Julie as well) are GREAT...you will thouroughly enjoy and appreciate having either of them as the commish for your age group.

I think 12 berths is ridiculous. 12 berths, plus the returning berths, plus Regionals, plus HOF, plus the NQ, there will be 20+ SoCal teams qualifying. What did they do look at the TC manual?

But with this years way of things, it should eliminate So Cal teams going to all these other qualifiers and cut the complaints from those other states who hate that we take their berths...

But, I'm wondering if its gonna stay this way. Maybe ASA realizes, with the economy in the toilet, alot of teams will decide NOT to chase this year. This may be the only way to get teams to go. Not sure if thats the reason, but it very well could be........

Also wondering if the amount of berths has something to do with the Gold level qualifiers and keeping girls down in divisions and still able to compete at the National level

Who's gonna play in the HOF qualifier now that its the same weekend as State's (16U) being that they're taking 12?

Roll the dice and try and win the HOF qualifier to get to OKC and then finish top 8?

Hmm...
