The 10u Fall season has officially begun!!

by BigGuns » Wed Mar 14, 2012 4:53 pm

my daughter does not play for the team. my daughter graduated college. But I have been there done that. Have a family member on the team which i go watch as much as i can- have to admit i miss the sport. Do i have all the ins and outs- probably not. Dont want to i enjoy hiding in right field watching the kids play. This time through dont need to know all the garbbage. One thing i have learned watching my daughter get through college is 10u and 12u and maybe even 14u do not matter. So to stand back and watch 1 man cause problems because his daughter didnt play enough on a 10u team is sad. Especially for such a great team. But I know it happens all the way up. Just dont remember it starting so young. Again sad to watch such a great team take a step backwards. And I am pretty up to date with most teams we play i am crazy like that- ask my daughter. If you wish to talk let me know who you are and i will be happy to come chat at the next game I can make. Love talking softball. Truth hurts some and i am not one to sugar coat anything so becareful what you wish to know

Teams that are serious about winning ASA Nationals and even the Triple Crown World Series. We got to see the the best teams from NorCal and Arizona and some teams from Utah and Colorado. Now in the South, they have Turf Wars IV where all the top teams from Georgia, Alabama, Louisiana, and Tennessee that are serious contenders for ASA Nationals in Indiana. I found this link.. http://www.ihigh.com/turfwar/broadcasts ... ted&page=1
It is video of alot of the games at Turf Wars IV including the Championship. Why didn't USA tape our games? Looks like Easton Elite Heat won it all. They are one of a few teams that will be looking too kick our So Cal arse in Indiana. :D

I have not had the time SW. But I did send the poll out today to guest pollsters who helped out the first time and to some others. I also sent the poll out to 15 coaches. So coaches and parents please check your inbox. I would like the 2nd poll to be mostly a coaches poll. (That's if I can get enough of them to participate). Deadline to get your poll in is March 24th. So when you have the time, can you please fill them out and get them back to me.Thanks

2nd 10U SO CAL TOP TEAM RANKING COACHES POLL (Spring 2012)

This is the second poll for the 10u season. The rankings will reflect the coaches poll. I have also including the rankings (in parentheses) of the parents poll. Gamers and Firecrackers are the unanimous #1 and # 2 teams as of now from all of those who participated. And 1-8 Coaches and Parents all have the same teams. A few new teams to the poll like Team Boombah, Primetime Elite and Choppers-Black who have being playing some good softball. Alot of great games played the last 2 months in Orange County and Las Vegas. And it only gets better with Fresno Force ( Mostly North vs. South) and ASA States in the next couple of months. This has been such a fun season as expected. Firecrackers and OC Batbusters continue to have great games. A couple of things I did not expect is an 02' team playing so well against the older teams. And for one team to be taking home all the hardware! I still think all of the top teams are very close, but Congrats Gamers on your continued success. Let's see how long your run can continue with every top team chomping at the bit to knock you off from that #1 spot. Thanks to everybody who participated in the poll.. 8-)

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

1.(1) Gamers 2001
http://www.iscorebaseball.com/home.php?t=gamers2001
Avg. points: 15.0
Prev. Rank: 1
Team Goals: ASA Nationals
Comments: Very good all around team. Play a very competitive schedule. Can play small ball and hit with the best teams out there. Very good speed, bats, and solid defensively. The best pitcher in the division will give this team a very good chance of winning ASA States and Nationals.
Accomplishments:
1st- All Level Bash 4 Cash
1st- All Level Christmas Joy
1st- Artesia Punishers Christmas Tournament
1st- TCS OC Coastal Classic
1st- ASA St. Paddy's Day Blast

2.(2) Firecrackers 2001
http://www.leaguelineup.com/welcome.asp ... crackers01
Avg. points: 14
Prev. Rank: 3
Team Goals: ASA Nationals
Comments: Very, very talented team. Play a very competitive schedule. Good speed, great bats, and a very good defense. Best bats in 10u, and a pitching rotation that goes 4-5 deep with girls than can be a #1 on most teams. No big wins yet, but this team is always there in the end. And have as good of a chance as any team to win ASA States and Nationals. The only ones that matter.
Accomplishments:
2nd- All Level Bash 4 Cash
2nd- American Athletics Toys 4 Tots
2nd- All Level Christmas Joy
t3rd- ASA St. Paddy's Day Blast

3.(3) OC Batbusters 2001
http://ocbb01.shutterfly.com/
Avg. points: 13
Prev. Rank: 2
Team Goals: ASA Nationals
Comments: Very good all around team. Play a very competitive schedule. Good pitching, great speed, very good bats, and a solid defense. Losing 5 players from their fall team including their coach has not helped this team build any chemistry. Although they did pick up the best hitter in 10u and picked up some very good players. The loss of their top two pitchers and SS really hurt. They have the bats and defense that will keep them in every game. Need another strong #1 pitcher to compliment theirs to go far at ASA States, and especially Nationals.
Accomplishments:
t3rd- All Level Bash 4 Cash,
1st- American Athletics Toys 4 Tots
t3rd- TCS OC Coastal Classic

4.(4) Corona Angels 2001
http://www.eteamz.com/coronaangelseaton/
Avg. points: 11
Prev. Rank: 5
Team Goals: ASA Nationals
Comments: Very good all around team. Playing a competitive schedule. They already have their berth to ASA Nationals. Very good pitching, great speed, good bats and a good defense. This team has the talent to go very far at ASA Nationals, if not win it all. Just because we don't see them that much. I would not count them out in the end.
Accomplishments:
1st- Swagger Shootout
t3rd- All Level Christmas Joy

5.(5) So Cal Athletics 2001
http://www.eteamz.com/socalathletics01aguirre/
Avg. points: 10.75
Prev. Rank: 6
Team Goals: ASA Nationals
Comments: Very scrappy team. Playing a competitive schedule. Good speed, good bats, very solid pitching to go with a very good defense. Most improved team since fall. Nothing great or flashy about this team, they just know how to play and get the job done. A sleeper team that has a chance to go far at ASA States and Nationals.
Accomplishments:
2nd- Swagger Shootout

6.(6) Case Batbusters 2001
http://www.eteamz.com/casebatbusters10u/
Avg. points: 10.25
Prev. Rank: 4
Team Goals: ?
Comments: Very good team. Not playing that competitive of a tournament schedule. Chosing to play all the top teams at friendlies. Average speed, good bats, and a very good defense to go with solid pitching. This team is this year's Jekyll and Hyde team in the 10u division. But still very capable of beating the teams above them when their #1 pitcher is on.
Accomplishments:
2nd- TCS So Cal State Championships*

7.(7) Firecrackers 2002
http://www.leaguelineup.com/welcome.asp ... ckerteam02
Avg. points: 9
Prev. Rank: 7
Team Goals: ASA Western Nationals
Comments: Very good all around team. Playing a very competitive schedule. Great speed, very good bats, solid pitching and defense. Very young, competitive team that puts the ball in play and are very tough to stop once they get a rally going. Which will give them a chance to compete with most of the top teams. But will tend to give up alot of runs, after scoring alot of runs.
Accomplishments:
1st- TCS Christmas Qualifier
2nd- Artesia Punishers Christmas tournament
t3rd- TCS OC Coastal Classic
2nd- TCS Presidents Day Showdown

8.(8) USA Athletics Ramos 2001
http://www.eteamz.com/usaathletics10uramos/
Avg. points: 8
Prev. Rank: 9
Team Goals: Triple Crown World Series
Comments: Very good solid team. Not playing that competitive of a schedule. Good speed, some very good bats. With solid pitching and defense. #1 pitcher throws hard and will keep them in most games. They have some bats in their lineup that can really hit the ball. But not as deep of a lineup as the teams above them after losing some good players from fall.
Accomplishments:
1st- TCS President's Day showdown
2nd- ASA St. Paddy's Day Blast

9.(11) So Cal Choppers Grey 2001
http://www.eteamz.com/socalchoppersgrey01/
Avg. points: 7.42
Prev. Rank: 8
Team Goals: ?
Comments: Very good, scrappy team. Playing a competitive schedule. Good speed, good bats, with very good pitching and a solid defense.
Accomplishments:

10.(12)So Cal Rage 2001
http://www.eteamz.com/socalrage2001/
Avg. points: 5.125
Prev. Rank: 11
Team Goals: Triple Crown World Series
Comments: Good team. Not playing that competitive a schedule. Very good speed, good bats and defense. Very good #1 pitcher that throws hard. Scrappy team that can put up a good fight with the top teams, but struggle with consistency.
Accomplishments:

11.(9) Strikeforce 2001
http://www.eteamz.com/strikeforce01/index.cfm
Avg. points: 4.0
Prev. Rank: 13
Team Goals: ?
Comments: Good team. Playing a very competitive schedule. Much improved. Some good bats that put the ball in play. Good speed, good pitching and defense. Another team that will put up a fight, but does not consistently play well.
Accomplishments:

12.(14) American Pastime 2001
http://www.eteamz.com/americanpastime01/
Avg. points: 4.75
Prev. Rank: HM
Team Goals: ?
Comments: Good team. With some good pitching, some speed. Good bats and a solid defense. Played well in Vegas.
Accomplishments:

13.(11) Team Boombah 2001
http://www.eteamz.com/TeamBoombah01/
Avg. Points: 4.5
Prev. Rank: NR
Team Goals: USSSA World Series
Comments: Newly formed team that played well in Vegas. Good overall team. Solid Pitching with a couple of big bats. Some good aggressive team speed and a solid defense.
Accomplishments:

14.(15) So Cal Choppers- Black
http://socalchoppers10ublk.shutterfly.com/
Avg. Points: 2.5
Prev. Rank: NR
Team Goals: AFA States
Comments: Good solid team. Playing a very competitive schedule. Playing well for a team that has not been together long. Solid pitching, Good bats, defense and good speed. Good showing at TCS OCCC and Vegas.
Accomplishments:

15.(HM) Power Surge 2001
http://www.eteamz.com/powersurge2001teamhirsh/
Avg. points: 2.25
Prev. Rank: HM
Team Goals: ?
Comments: Good team. Not playing a very competitive schedule. Good pitching. Good bats, defense and good speed all around.
Accomplishments:
1st- TCS Dancing in the Desert*

16.(16) Primetime Elite 2001
Website:
Avg. points: 2
Prev. Rank: NR
Team Goals: ?
Comments: Another newly formed team. Very good pitching. Some bats and average defense. Very strong #1 pitcher that will keep them in games. But will need more bats, and a better defense to help them win the big games.

17.(13) So Cal Wicked 2001
http://www.eteamz.com/socalwicked-eastburn/
Avg. points: 2
Prev. Rank: 14

April 15 Friendly put on by Brandon of La Habra Heat at Bonita Park was a massive success. All the great teams were in attendance and it made for some good softball. Hats off to Brandon.

Some good games played. Here's to a Championship Run to all the teams this summer. Good Luck!!!

Great Job Brandon. This friendly had alot of really good games. Corona Angels and Firecrackers 01 played one hell of a game. So Cal Rage played some great ball against some really good teams beating OC Batbusters and playing So Cal Athletics to a tie. Good Job Rage. Corona Angels and USA Athletics was another good game with CA holding on for a close win. Corona Angels have been playing really well. In the last few weekends they have beaten the #3, #5, #7, #8, and #9 teams in the rankings. And barely lost to the #2 team by one run. Great Job CA. Fresno will be very interesting to see who comes out on top.. :D Good Luck to all... Hopefully it's as good as this friendly was
