Best hitting coaches in So Cal

by concerned » Fri Jul 01, 2011 11:49 am

Being fairly new to travel ball could someone tell me who the best hitting coaches are in So Cal? Preferably in Orange County. I have a 14u and a 12u daughter. Thanks!

Try to get in with Andy Trevino. He was Katie Cochran's hitting coach for some time. Worked with my DD and he is excellent. I think he and Don Sarno work out of the same place in Yorba Linda.

I've heard that Phil Bruder is one of the best in the country. Come to think of it, I may have heard it from Phil himself......

I thought Katie Cochran's dad taught Katie to hit?

He is a great hitting coach

There is no so called "Best". There are many great hitting instructors that teach in various ways and philosophies so the "Best" one for your DD might not be the best for someone else. Find the one that is the best fit for your DD.

Katie saw Andy Trevino, Doug Myers, Jim Dolan and Tony Rico during her youth career for brief periods of time. All would tell you that they did not teach Kaitlin how to hit. I feel very comfortable in saying that her father did.

So do you give lessons Pat? If so, where do you work out of?

Mike Stith at Sports Training Complex in Anaheim
Tony Rico at Softball Connection in Huntington Beach

Plus others mentioned in the previous posts, minus Phil Bruder :o You need to take your DD to a couple of these coaches and then decide, there is no one best coach as said before - just who your DD responds to and learns from the best.
