10U SOCAL TOP TEAM RANKING FIRST POLL 1/2011 - (2011 SEASON)

by SoCal10UDude » Sat Jan 15, 2011 11:15 pm

Ok folks, a few days later than I promised but here it goes. Softball Daddy 00 did most of the work and did a great job administering most of the poll. I stop listing teams when the average points fall below 1.0. For this poll we're stopping at a tie for 17th. So if your team is not listed or you see a team "missing" it is because they did not average at least 1 point per poll (this happens). Very very close with 1-3 with really #1/#2 a statistical tie for the most part. Some gap beyond for 4th and 5th rankings.

Seems to be a much closer 1-3 than last year although mid season OCBB and Jynx and FC were reasonably close as well. I will add websites and pollster comments in the next day or so...Like the 98's before the 99's many major orgs are in and out of 10U this year. Still no Victory USA in 10U 2 yrs in a row, USA Athletics a late bloomer forming a team very recently. No American Athletics, Jynx, and no OC BatBusters 10U this year either...

So for the ones who are around, SoCal 10U, here are your TOP TEAMS!

HONORABLE MENTIONS AND TEAMS GETTING SOME POINTS/VOTES LESS THAN 1.0:

1. Minors Gold 2000 (Hopkins)
2. PowerSurge 2000
3. SoCal Rampage 2000
4. Case BatBusters 2001
5. No Errors
------------------------------------------------------

Grading System:
A: Teams that are capable of winning ASA Nationals. "A" teams have pitching depth such as Two "ACE" pitchers or more and a true 1-9 batting line-up.

A-/B+ : Teams that will be expected to qualify for ASA Nationals but lack pitching depth for the later rounds or lack a true 1-9 batting line up. A-/B+ would be expected to qualify and get to the middle rounds of ASA Nationals.

B: Teams that should qualify for ASA Nationals, might need a little luck in bracket play but will probably have an early exit in Nationals.

B- : Teams that would need to be very lucky in bracket draw to qualify for ASA Nationals but something in the cards could happen. These teams should probably go to ASA Westerns and should be very competitive there.

C+ : Teams that are not "travel lite" and have solid goals and would benefit by going to Western Nationals instead of TCS.

C: Teams where TCS World Series would be a great goal and be competitive there.

D: Travel Lite / Might not be around come All-Star Deadline.

MY DAUGHTER LEFT 10U 2YERS AGO BUT I SEE THE 10U AT FRIENDLIES ALL THE TIME. I THOUGHT THE 99S WERENT QUITE UP TO SNUFF COMPARED TO THE 98S BUT THE 2000S SEEM REALLY SMALL EXCEPT FOR A FEW THAT IVE SEEN. SO FAR I THINK IN THE PAST FEW YRS THE 97 AND 98 PLAYERS WERE THE BEST OF THE 10U CLASS IN THEIR TIME

Making such comparisons are useless and a waste of time.  Since your daughter is obviously a 97 or 98, I am sure you will forever think her class is the biggest, fastest, and most skilled. The steriod era is over or maybe they serve healthier food at school now.    I bet if you went to your DD's elementary school, you would swear she was much smarter than the current 1st graders also. :o :o :o

Really disappointed in Gamers & Firecrackers this weekend at TC Huntington Beach. For being top ranked teams they swept through pool play easily and then got eliminated in quarter finals. STILL can't win big games. CA took care of business except losing to the AZ Liberty but at least that was in pool play but at least they regrouped on Sunday and did what they were supposed to do.

Biggest surprises and well deserved kudos goes to the Punishers for making it to Championship and beating quality teams on the way. Also the All American Sports Academy had a great run and would be a top 10 in the poll if they were from So Cal.

Who & what are Sea Dogs & what were they doing there??

Thanks for the backhanded compliment Mr. Tarbell.

You expect everyone to give you compliments for taking care of business? All of the top teams are EXPECTED to go deep into tournaments or else you would have been in the disappointed list like Gamers and FC. You must of been a neglected child growing up so here is your pat on the back and a pacifier to go along with it.
