OK my 2 cents. Sorry new to this site. Me and my daughter have been watching games for last few years taking my granddaughter to her games. Honestly cant rank top teams yet with so many of these big teams filling spots with 11 year olds. Not sure why they do this myself unless to qualify or try and sound good to recruit players. Our team wins and we have all 99's. Thats it about our team. Teams to watch I think. Teams talked about in previous post I have seen play. OC Bat Busters looked good and From the talk they are all 10. Jynz also a top 10u with Firecrackers leading the pack. good pitching with good all around fundamentals- sound teams. So Cal Bombers are big girls with big bats. pitching ok. But there top batters are 11. Strike Force 99 look bad. Don't think they have won a game from talking to parents. HB Breeze wins games but the games I have seen I wasnt impressed. Team Anderson I have not seen play so I wont comment. Power Surge also has a few 11 yr olds so we will see how they do in January. Maddness also all 11yr olds moving to 12u in a month. But a fun team to watch is Strike Force 00 The pitcher didn't look like much but she moved the ball well enough to hold back teams. Nasty changeup too. they are so small. All 9 year olds to with one 8 year old. I think they may upset teams who judge them by size. I have actually heard a few coaches talk about them so me and my granddaughter went to watch them this weekend. She calls them the midgets. They really are almost half the size of the other 10u teams but they can play. Good fundamentals. If they stay together they will be the Top team next year and maybe in the Top 20 this year. They held back San Marcos Blaze only losing 2-1 with there monster 11yr old. Who I might say throws the ball very well. mid 50's. I would honestly say she is 1 of the top 10u pitcher now but again she is 11. Which will hurt blaze in January. San Marcos Blaze had a few great players. Pitcher was awesome. But again 11 so may hurt them next month. Thats enough for now when I watch a few more Ill add some more of my 2 cents.

Softball Grandpa a fair comment...there are a lot of teams playing with 1998s, and it should be interesting to see teams in January. The Bombers do have two 1998s that are moving on and we wish them all the best, but our core hitters and three pitchers (which we think are better than "ok") are all 1999s. We can't wait to play in January and for the first friendlies and tournaments. As far as I’m concerned we are all chasing the Firecrackers.

Is anyone holding a friendly on 1/10 or 1/17? Please let us know as we are looking to fill our January calendar (gutierrez9599@aol.com). Thanks and Happy Holidays to all!

I just can't understand why kids play down. How does that benefit them? Especially if they're a pitcher who has to move back 5 ft. at 12u and throw a bigger ball. Am i missing something here?
Stay thirsty, my friends

No, you're not missing anything......they are. I still don't get why they would do that, but they do. I have never heard a satisfactory answer from anyone that's done it. Definitely doesn't benifit the girl in any way - in fact, it makes it more difficult when they do move up (especially the move from 10's to 12's).
Oh well, they're allowed - Good luck to them later, they'll need it.

Well said, I also believe the Corona Eliminators have a 9yr, 00 lefty pitcher and she throws pretty hard for 9 yr. old., Its just sad to see these teams w/98 pitchers trying go trophy hunting..

Dodger

What does a '00 have to do with '98? No need to get your feathers rustled over a '00, she won't be on the Eliminators next year...especially if she's all that. Enjoy her services now while you can.... I'm sure the Firecrackers '00 or Batbusters '00 (whoever that may be) will have her interest by the end of the year...
