College Rule Question

In a college game I noticed that a runner leaving early is now a delayed dead ball and if batter is put out, the coach has option of taking the out on batter or taking out on runner leaving early.

Question - Runner on 2nd & 3rd and runner on 2nd leaves early with 0 outs. Batter hits ball to RF and is put out at 1B and runner from 3rd scores. If coach elects to take out on runner at 2nd does the runner at 3rd score and what happens to batter?

I'm guessing the ball is dead and runner is out at 2nd for leaving early. Runner at 3rd goes back to home and BR is put back up to bat?

The college coaches got the rule changed a few years back so the defensive coach could take the option of the result of the play or the penalty. It is for situation where the runner left early and the batter hits a line drive or fly ball and gets doubled off the base. In those situations the coach would take the result of the play and get the 2 outs. If they take the penalty it is the same as the old leaving early rule, it is a no pitch situation, the ball is dead and runner is out. Batter is still at bat with the same count as before.
