Here's the situation...
Runners at 1st and 2nd no outs, batter hits pop up between pitcher and 3rd. 3rd runs over to make the catch clearly under the ball, the ball hits her glove and drops to the ground. Once the ball hits the ground runners from 2nd and 1st take off the pitcher gets the ball throws to SS covering 3rd base which forces out the runner. Ump calls the girl out at 3rd base and then turns around and calls the batter out for infield fly rule. The infield fly rule was never enforced and the ump says, "Coach I don't have to make that call, read your rule book" WTF??
So my question is does the ump have to verbally make that call to enforce the rule? Also which ump is to make that call, the home plate ump or the field ump?
Did F6 tag the runner ?... there is no force on this play... runners advance at their on risk on IFR ...
