What is the call if the batter after ball is received by catcher from pitcher steps one foot out with a practice swings hits the catcher with the bat, while the catcher is throwing the ball back to the field of play?

I have seen this called two different ways, just interested in what the majority feels is the correct call

Based on the limited amount of information you offer, it is nothing.

Depends on if there are runners on base and if a play is happening. If no play is being made and the throw is simply going back to the pitcher, the ball should be ruled dead and runner/s return to base. If a play is being made, it is interference on the batter, dead ball, batter out, runner/s return.

If it is interference on the batter wouldnt the lead runner be called out, all other runners return and batter continue?

No, when you have interference, the player guilty of the interference is the one called out, unless that player is already out, then you go to the runner closest to home.

Thank you that is what I thought but neither blues say it that way on two separate occasions, could not find it in the rule book, so thanks for making it easy
