We give our calls to the catcher and the catcher gives them to the pitcher. that's how we've always done it. We were told today that anyone can give the call to the pitcher. dugout stands or where ever....... what is it?
thanks

If she's getting signs from the stands you may need to have a meet and greet with the pitcher's papa...

We have had situations, usually when we have a pick up pitcher for a weekend, but sometimes for a season ... Where the parent is also the Pitching Coach ... He certainly knows the Hurler better than we do ... We just give him a bucket and let him sit where ever the backstop and he can signal each other ... Also, at 23U, once the Backstop and Hurler have worked together a few times, we let them call the game without our advice unless we have some batting history that they may not be aware of ...

You don't let your catcher know what pitch is coming?

'Backstop" is another term for catcher.
