moving to Phoenix area...daughters (2) will need a team

by msda8 » Tue Mar 30, 2010 12:34 am

We are planning on moving to the Phoenix area at the end of the summer right before school starts. Was hoping for some advice on which travel ball programs are good in the area? what is the average price to play on a team there? When are try outs for the next season?

Have two daughters (one 16U, one 18U)--both have played "A" level ball the last couple of years in our area. One will be a senior, the other a sophmore.

Any input would be appreciated...Thanks!

Teams generally start posting after Nationals...

Best orgs in Phx would be :

Hotshots
Killer Bees
Scottsdale Fever
Lil' Saints
Outlaws

There are definately other good ones also....

As said, there are many good organizations in Phx..hopefully some others will chime in...?

What about price range? Teams in our area range from $800 to $2000 for team fees (to cover tournament fees, insurance, uniforms, etc) --this does not include travel expenses. And higher price doesn't always mean the better quality team. Is it about the same out there?

And I take it that Smiley favors HotShots Gatti

We will be looking for a 16U and 18U team....or possibly both of them playing 18U together???

Again, thanks for the input!

just my opinion, Keith housholder is one of the best az coaches that teaches the game.

also Gatti's program is a joke... just ask around. They dont make kids better, they just cash checks.

oh, and Scottsdale fever is NOT a good organization for older , competitive girls..

I am interested to know what team msda8 chose for the girls and what they think about AZ organizations compared to where they came from (I guess you will have to tell us where). Also how about the costs is Arizona similar to other states in practice styles, costs, and schedules?
