All teams entered have been posted to the website. Any team that registered, but did not pay have been moved to the waiting list. We will continue to add teams on a first pay basis until the tournament is full or April 1st.

Thanks,

Mark

We have calls out for Umpires from Nothern Cal, Southern Cal and Neveda! The tournament was expanded to a maximum of 116 teams this year from 89 last year. We have 98 teams paid and 23 more we are waiting for payments to fill up the final 18 spots.

We are trying a new format this year. If it works, we may try for the Qualifier in 2009 for 10's and 12's.

Awesome! It already has a "national" feel in the way its run. Was well worth the 200+ mile drive!

Best of luck!

Well run tournament. But, I believe there will be at least one item that holds this up for being a qualifier. The tournament is, for the most part, NorCal vs SoCal with CentralCal being... one or the other or neither. But (and isn't there always a "but") NorCal high school players cannot play. They are blocked from playing any non-high school tourney or game with an umpire until about May 20th. Apparently SoCal high school players can play (and do), no restrictions. Don't know about Central. So, unless you have older teams with players not playing high school ball, all the NorCal teams will be 8th graders or younger.

True, there is not an overabundance of NorCal powerhouses. Granted. However, if the thought is "make this a qualifier"... the question becomes; how did you do against the 8th graders... and is that a reasonable test for teams that qualify for a qualifier?

Regardless, we have enjoyed the tournament in the past. However, I think it will remain a local North/South bash based on high school participation (or lack of).

fasterpitch you are correct. Both Central Cal and Southern Cal high school players cannot be involved in the tournament as a NQ. Many 14U teams are not the same team as in the summer due to High School Ball. This is why ASA is only looking at 12U and 10U as NQ.

hotwheels

Any player in Season of Sport for CIF is not allowed to play in outside competetion. This is why the Force Classic only has 10U, 12U and 14U divisions.
