My daughter is now a senior playing college ball. Every year I give her a pep talk advise and of course cliches. Here is this years final list to her. (some but not all can be applied to TB)A father's final pep talk:
(a) Play the ball, don't let it play you
(b )Get involved in the play. (move!)
(c) Beat the ball, don't greet the ball.
(d) If there are too many virginias on the field, you're probably benched.
(e) If you can hit, they'll find a spot for you.
(f) There is no "i" in team,,there is an "i" in win.
(g) If you're going to swing, put something on it.
(h) Don't leave it up to the umpire to choose your destiny.
(i) You can watch strikes go by from the bench.
(j) Let it get here, your hands are faster than you think.
(k) If your'e holding your hand or glove up in the field, you may need a visor.
(l) There is no excuse for a fly ball hitting the ground.
(m) For every action there is an equal and opposite criticism.
(n) Play every game every play like it's your last.
(o) One play, one pitch at a time.
(p) Every practice is a try-out.
(q) Your coach doesn't care about feelings, they want to win.
(r) Diving is always worth extra points.
(s) Make adjustments!
(t) Hit line drives, not long flies.
(u) Farting in the batters box is funny.
(v) If they know you're gong to bunt, it's going to be a rise ball.
(w) Over think before stepping in the batter's box, be dumb and execute in it.
(x) A positive attitude leads to positive results. Be happy for everyone.
(y) Every ball is yours till someone calls you off.
(z) Finish it, win or lose, we love you.(1) You are on the team.
(2) Everyone wants to play.
(3) Age and seniority have nothing to do with it, Results, attitude and respect do.
(4 Take advantage of every opportunity given to you.
(5) Be thankful, enjoy, and love every minute.
