This could get interesting, Many of the top teams do a good job of picking up players that are already great players. From my limited exposure a few of the coaches that "teach" are. Your views may differ

I don't know many NoCal coaches, so I will put forth my picks for SoCal:

Coaching, Teaching, Recruiting, Game Mgmt:

1) Mark Campbell (three ASA National Wins: 10U, 12U, 14U) Developed a lot of kids who are going to big time D1 programs)

2) Rick Hopkins- excellent teacher of the game and manages games very well...recruiting...won ASA Nationals based in Hemet...nuff said.

3) Dave Clark - no better teacher...wonderful game manager...takes and develops kids that most coaches wouldn't...two of the kids he developed will be going to UCLA & Michigan next year.

If you want an interesting list....see who will call out the bottom 10....

I really hope no one identifies a coach who is a bad teacher, recruiter, etc. Non-abusive coaches who do a poor job are very likely trying and are putting a ton more time into their team than the non-coach parents. They don't deserve public ridicule simply because they aren't as skilled as others. Sam, I have a feeling you don't really want to see such a list either. How about a list of the worst loud mouth parents?

Parents don't really know who the bad teachers are...the ones that do just move along to another team. They won't identify bad recruiters either....recruiting has a lot to do with other non-coach factors (location, team composition, team history, etc). The coaches that would get identified would be the obnoxious coaches...who won't even consider the feedback anyway.

Even though we seem to complain about coaching in reality we have some pretty good ones in Southern California.

I will add to the list:can't leave out:

GEORGE ARAUJO:Lakewood Ladies, geat developer(teacher).just look at the players he still has since 8u/10u.

[b]BILL JACKSON :Fircrackers, bills teams are always ready to play.

MIKE SMITH:Corona Angels: Successful from 10u thru high school. proven track record.

best payed coaches (my kids have had )

HOWARD KOBATA and BRIAN TURANG..INFIELD

BOTH WORTH EVERY PENNY.....how about hitting and pitching ,payed coaches?????

Dan,

Thanks for adding to the list.

Send in paid or unpaid coaches. It does'nt matter. I just want to have a list for folks to see who is doing a good job (or not), and also open the door for some good old fashioned debate.

Where are the Nor Cal Coaches?

Despite the title of the message, let's add other states as well.
