Didnt pay that much attention Hoover, but I will next time she pitches...not that I have any say-so...

ESPN needs to get a repairman on that K-zone because there is no way umpires could screw up the strike zone that bad

Yup, often. No worries, the blues will get right on that

Yeah I just watched the LSU/OK game on my DVR and it sure seems like she's leaping to me.

Unsure of its accuracy, but that whole 'strike zone' frame was laughable...balls a foot outside and high were being called strikes...

I understand that the ball on the tracker is based on where it is caught, not at the front of the plate. If anyone has a link for that information, please share.

If true, it would explain some of the differences on curve balls, screw balls and rise balls. It would not explain how drop balls above the bottom of the box are ruled to be balls.

I'd certainly agree that she leaps frequently, but it's not particularly egregious and it doesn't bother me that they don't call it. I watched a little more closely yesterday to see if she's crow-hopping, and I'm still not 100% sure that she doesn't, but I can't say I see any direct evidence that she does.

Here's a video of her getting called for an illegal pitch for leaping:

No crow-hop there, and that looks pretty similar to what I saw from her motion in the WCWS.

Thanks for sharing 32. I guess the bottom line is that if they're not calling it then it's not illegal.

Agreed. Great play with a huge assist to the catcher making a great tag on a slightly off-line, high and hard throw.
