Thanks DonnieS and fp92701. They not only improved a lot the next year but they talked up softball among their friends so much that the next season the league added two more teams from their elementary school.

4yrs old, 1st year tball, championship game, 2 outs, down by 1, runner on 1st, my DD on 2nd, and I'm coaching 3rd. Ball is hit to SS and goes under her legs. I tell DD to go home and she misses touching 3B by a mile. I yell to her 1/2 way down the baseline to come back. She comes back, touches, and heads towards home. Damn catcher caught the friggin' ball and tagged her out.
"Mom, it's ok that you made us lose, you don't have to tell God you're sorry for cheating."

My parents wouldn't speak to me and just heard them utter amongst themselves, "the umpire wouldn't have noticed that".
