Tales of Colorado

What's on your mind?

by PDad » Tue Jul 07, 2015 5:49 pm

I'd like to hear from the people in Colorado last week - the good, the not-so-bad and the funny. Here's some theme music https://youtu.be/AFa1-kciCb4...

Honestly though, and I know we say this every year, but it would be so easy for Triple Crown to space out the games and allow championship games to happen on Saturday rather than Sunday, so we all have a chance to get home with a day of recovery. Just my two cents. Other than that, it was a fun week.

I like the drive to Denver from CA, through the Rocky Mountains.
At least if you fly next time you'll be welcomed by one of the most interesting sights in the Denver area. :D

Lots of college coaches at Erie fields where the 14u power pool games were held.
Ucla, Michigan, AZ, South Carolina, Auburn, Nebraska....lots of fun!

So you can stop at all the checkpoints and show your travel permission papers to the proper authorities.

14U Power Pools at Erie were definitely a place to be. Would be interesting to hear how the 16U college coach tournout was. All of those listed before along with Oregon, Ohio State, Missouri, Stanford, Georgia, Florida, UAB, Virginia, ASU, Michigan State, DePaul, Purdue, North Carolina, Texas A & M, Kansas, Fullerton, VA Tech and so many other D1 schools. Head and Asst coaches, Candrea, White, etc. It was something to see.

Has TCS Fireworks equaled or even surpassed Boulder IDT as the top tourney for getting seen?

What triggered your question?

The 14U Power Pool posts are about Sparkler Jr, which I believe is the top 14U CO event.

The 16U/18U Power Pools and Super Brackets are co-branded Fireworks / Sparkler. TCS created them from what was the pre-TCS Fireworks, which left Fireworks with the leftovers. It's unclear to me how TCS places teams between Fireworks and Sparkler. Anyone know?

I don't see how TCS Fireworks could compare favorably to Boulder IDT. Please rephrase your question if that isn't what you meant to ask.
