What's on your mind?

Katelyn Burge intentionally hit teammate during batting practice. The batter was believed to have snitched on a coach for violating the universities alcohol policy. After hitting the batter, Katelyn said "That was for (the coach that was reported)".

I still maintain that the only good use for lawyers is a protein base for cat food.

Have to chuckle at the lawyers response: "Burge’s attorney, Brian Jones, said anyone who steps into a batter’s box assumes the risk of getting hit."

By that logic, anyone who stands in front of a gun barrel being pointed at them assumes the risk of getting hit.

It's amazing how lawyers can rationalize anything.

Snitches get stitches (j/k PC police)... It says she continued on with BP. I wonder if a someone else pitched to her after that or if the same girl pitched... If it was the same girl it looks like the message was sent and that's the end of it (or was suppose to be the end of it)... Players policing other players isn't something new... Glad the girl wasn't hurt though...

Yea... "policing other players".... yep.....batters get hit. Just part of "policing". ah...huh.... Odd, though.... if the batter had a poor grip on the bat and the bat just happened... to fly out of her hands about 2/3's through the swing... that might be considered a form of "policing" too. Just by accident. If you want to be an enforcer you have to be prepared for consequences of being an enforcer. Even accidents happen to enforcers. Net/net, no excuse for intentionally beaning someone. Using "snitch" as an excuse to bean someone is sophomoric.

Nobody gets murdered using softballs, however, bats are used to murder people over 300 times in the USA each year......according to the FBI. Dumb comparison.

Some idiot actually took this to the DA and this moronic DA chose to prosecute this kid for what really amounts to nothing. She got hit on the shoulder by a kid throwing 56mph. Boo hoo. She was a crappy teammate at Walkon State who ratted out another team member. She was also warned . She's lucky she didn't get the soap bar in the sock treatment...from Full Metal Jacket.

So Sam I can't "overuse" players, but it's okay to throw at them if they open their mouths? :D

As long as they don't hurt their arms while doing so.

The problem in players policing themselves(besides the obvious injuries) is what i they are wrong and target the wrong player? It seems that the coach confronted the Pitcher, but what were the consequences? Sam I find it ironic you are so cavalier regarding potential injury here when you get on your soapbox for so many other potential injuries?
