Northeast pitching is not exactly the pitching standard.

Northeast pitching is not exactly the pitching standard.

Are you suggesting it was like the rec ball situation where the umpire has to choose between having a walk-fest or expanding the strike zone?

Probably just a whiney batter's dad...

Just a different softball world. Based on shared video, it appears the top pitch speed to be 52-55 mph. Top So Cal HS pitchers would dominate in the NE.

Totally in the batters favor. I saw so many bombs hit this weekend at the TCS in HB by 12 year olds who weighed a buck o'five!

All joking aside about NE softball.
Officiating in college softball is the bane of the sport. I would say 50% of the umpires are 60 years or older and they miss a lot of calls. They are also arrogant about what the strike zone is and are rarely consistent throughout a 7 inning game.

Oh for crying out loud. Different umps have different zones. Just play the game...damn!

True statement, but why do we have to put up with that? Baseball would never put up with radical range of strike zones I have seen in college softball.

Sorta makes sense to me that to in order to grow the sport to viewers the strike zone would shrink.

Hope they don't ask my DD to pitch, but if they do she'll do it.
