However, besides the obvious color difference, the palms are constructed differently (e.g. see lacing). I suspect the fingers of the FP model are bowed due to a larger pocket. The FP model also has their V-Flex Notch in the heel.
GGE60 (baseball http://www.mizunousa.com/baseball/produ ... ield-glove)
GGE60FP (fastpitch http://www.mizunousa.com/fastpitch/prod ... ield-glove)
Looking at this site: http://www.slammersillinois.com/Mizuno- ... sl-gge.htm , which i believe to be all men's gloves.
Also on mizuno's site you see most of the mens gloves have the extra stringing.
http://www.mizunousa.com/baseball/products/global-elite-vop-gge53vaxbk-infield-glove I think this may be related to size of pocket. Bigger gloves 11.5 and above have the double strings, smaller gloves do not. It also seems this extra lacing may be new with newer models.
I don't know what this has to do with my post. I referred to the lacing across the bottom of the palm. It is different between the baseball and fastpitch versions of the same model and size.
Thank you for contacting Mizuno USA. Although both gloves are the same size and same leather, the GGE60FP (fastpitch) will have a smaller hand opening and fingers. This is because our fastpitch gloves are sized smaller to fit a female's hand. Also, the GGE60FP fastpitch glove will have a deeper pocket than the GGE60 baseball glove, because more space is needed to fit a larger softball. If you have any further questions, please let us know!

For me, you are reading more into the extra set of laces than is actually there.

Yes, just not the other way around.

For Mizuno gloves, based on this statement, smaller fingers and bigger pocket seems to be the main distinction. That is probably enough to warrant choosing a fastpitch version over a baseball version.
