I've never seen or heard of a DD getting a Scholly because she can bunt. Coaches are idiots for calling a bunt. I actually saw that this weekend twice...

Food for thought:

1) Compete with your self (be the best player YOU can be!)
2) Compete against you teamates (be the best on your team)
3) Compete against the other Dugout (be the best on the field)

Softball is 9 individuals needing to play their collective individual best to win games. Not the best team!

tbjd take off your blinders or admit you really "haven't been around" there's a girl on UCLA's roster who did nothing but bunt for her entire senior year of TB. I doubt she got $ but if you know anything about that schools admissions it's as big a win win situation as anybody's. FYI the kid runs like Ben Johnson on steriods

back to topic a lot of athletes that need or want a coach to push them as they don't have the innate desire to compete. dugout Dad makes a great point about self centered kids

That being said, I have seen college games lost because players could not put down the bunt. It drives college coaches nuts that girls(and coaches) did not think it was important enough to learn how to bunt.
