Bubba, I know kids that went to Blinn and Temple. Some went to mid major D1s , one went to a major D1, others quit after two years. The programs and the schools are good, the rest depends on the kid. Contrary to other post, they have plenty of scholarships to give. see below:
The NJCAA allows 24 scholarships per school. These are full-ride but individual schools can offer partial grants in aid. Top players tend to receive the best offers. There are 148 division 1 and 122 division 11 colleges that offer financial aid. Each school can only offer 24 scholarships in total, unlike the NCAA they cannot offer a larger number of at a lower percentage.
Keep in mind they don't all give 24, since they generally don't carry that many players. One of the schools mentioned above gives 18. That is all the coach want to carry.
Here is the NJCAA website.
http://www.njcaa.org/colleges.cfmIf your DD wants to play D1 ball while getting her education, this is a viable stepping stone. Just keep in mind, her first objective should be her education. If she has a chance to walk on (coach says she is on the team, but doesn't have any money to give) at the school she wants to attend, then it is likely worth pursuing, especially if she has the academics and test grades to get some academic money. If she has the talent to go to a jucco, then D1, then she has the talent to walk on to a D1 and contribute.
Good luck to your DD.
