Optimum number of players to carry

What's on your mind?

by Skarp » Fri Jan 18, 2008 10:23 am

Branching off from the post below, at what point does the number of players carried by a team get to be too many? What number is just right, and why? Does the optimum number vary depending on what age and/or competition level you are at (e.g., 14A v. 18G)?

For 10's or 12's, around 12 players. For 14's maybe 14 or 15 (if you have "specialists", that don't play when they're not pitching in championship play).

18 gold will carry 16+. Gold teams have players missing weekends for various reasons.

Looking back, these numbers seem great, unless your trying to maximize paler fees/dues!
