What's on your mind?

FWIW --Half the Beverly Illin. Bandits roster (7) is made up from girls from No. Ohio. And Ohio has 1-2 on the NJ Intensity as well . Wish we could keep them at home .

and as far as coaches at showcases this one obviously was really good but matched in number by the
Orland Park Sparks held in Chicago. They had just above 200 sign in. MD

Please remember that this was a showcase and many teams did not play their top lineup. Of course, there were several teams that felt this was a national championship and coached and played it as such. For example, there was a coach who went to the umpire because a team batted 11 players and had the "11th" girl called out when she reached 1B (he was winning 4-0 at the time). The rules called for only 10 batters but no one cared except this one coach because he was just playing to win. What a knucklehead

Not really sure what the pertinence of this statement is. Me and my DD watched this game because she had several friends on "The Knuckleheads" team. This was a highly hyped up game at the complex. Largely, because BOTH teams were loaded with rosters of committed players. Rules are rules, whether or not they agree to popular opinion of what a showcase should be. Besides from where I stood the girl who was removed got on base via a dropped third strike, not like it was a hit stolen away from her.

Incidentally, for those who may not understand the East Coast teams play more to win because the season is much shorter than it is for Southern and Western teams, rosters are much smaller too so less players to get into games. They can't play Friendlies into January like the warmer areas do. FWIW the CA team in this game had the best lineup I saw the whole weekend.

Sorry Jimmy, but I vote "knucklehead'. The coach doesn't need to get caught up in the hype, especially at an exposure.

We played in one this weekend where the rules said "11 players". Every game we told the opponent we had 12 and they said to bat the whole lineup. Contrary to your statement, most coaches understand that in exposures not all "rules are rules". If a college coach is there to see a player she needs to be in the game regardless of batting order or substitution rules.

No decent coach would expect anything different.

Most of your top 10 or so teams will pick marquee match up games in showcases to play all out to win. They have done this for years and will continue doing it. If you don't agree with that method it is because your team is not one of the top teams.
